Passkey

A WebAuthn credential synced across a user's devices through their platform account, so phishing-resistant public-key login works without a separate hardware key per device.

Passkeys keep WebAuthn’s phishing resistance — the private key still never leaves secure device storage — while solving its biggest adoption blocker: losing your one hardware key used to mean losing access. Cloud sync trades a sliver of that isolation for usability, which is why account-recovery design still matters even with passkeys in the picture.
